Hayes’ MDaudit™ team is in the final countdown, wrapping up the testing to get ready for the launch of the exciting new version 3.0. “As we receive feedback from our users, we enhance the product to better meet their needs,” says George Andrew, Manager, Products Division. Thus, 3.0 features a “flexible auditing” capability that enables compliance auditors to create audits focused on specific risk areas such as specific procedure codes or ranges, diagnoses codes, place of service, etc. In all, over 30 data elements can be used to create profiles for selecting audit case samples. Additionally, enhanced fee schedule functionality and additional reporting options provide auditors with more tools to manage the compliance process.

Also on the horizon, due out in the Spring of 2008, is a new Coding Utilization add-on module, which allows auditors to compare their physicians’ billing data to national and/or regional normative data in a bell curve format to identify areas that may be at risk.
